This form can be submitted online, or may be downloaded, printed and sent in, following the directions on the mail order form (click button below). Picture and $160 banner payment also need to be submitted. 

Proofs of all banners will be posted on this website, the week of April 22. If there are corrections, they need to be submitted by April 29. Banners will be hung by late May. 

Financial assistance, made possible by the support of the Syracuse University Institute of Veterans and Military Families, is available. Eligible banner sponsors can receive a 50% reduction in the banner fee. Contact Herb Dunmore, commander of the Dunbar American Legion Post at hldunmore@verizon.net for additional information. 

Terms and Conditions

Syracuse Hometown Heroes banner recipients must be active duty, retires, honorably discharged or those who gave their life in action in one of the branches of the U.S Armed Forces. They must be current residence of the City of Syracuse or have lived in the city* for a period of, at least five years. Syracuse Hometown Heroes banner recipients must not have been convicted of a felony as an adult or juvenile for offenses involving violence, domestic violence, illegal drugs, or sexual misconduct. If it is determined that the terms and conditions have not been met, the Syracuse Parks Conservancy and the City of Syracuse have the right to remove the banner without providing a refund to the banner sponsor. 

* The city of defined as an address for a property that pays taxes to the City of Syracuse. A Syracuse mailing address does not necessarily constitute residency in the City of Syracuse.

*DPI stands for “dots per inch.” DPS is used for printer resolution, to indicate the clarity and detail of an image on paper. The higher the DPI, the better an image will reproduce in large sizes.
